    Description

The SHA is interested in a vendor that can provide a full service contract for the life of the hemodialysis and portable Reverse Osmosis (RO) machines purchased within this contract.  The expectation is that the vendor will ensure there are dedicated biomedical technician(s) within the province to ensure a 24 hour response time for emergency repairs and provide all regularly scheduled maintenance/service requirements. It is our expectation that the vendor will detail the technician-to machine ratio keeping in mind the potential for vast geographical distance between patients.

The current home hemodialysis equipment utilized in Saskatchewan has a life expectancy of 10 years, unless the equipment has not been operating at its full capacity and/or is evaluated as safe for continued use.  Prevalent patients will continue to utilize current equipment until equipment is no longer functional. The current equipment will be managed under a full service agreement with the current vendor.  Prevalent patients may be transitioned under the new contract as required and deemed appropriate by the SHA.  Incident patients will be enrolled to the Program under the new contract.
