Canadian Coast Guard is considering soliciting proposals for multiyear construction contracts to undertake dredging and disposal of sediments in the Detroit River. The proposals may deal with dredging only, disposal only or a combination of dredging and disposal. On February 15th, 2022 Canada will host an “Industry Engagement Day” virtually through Microsoft Teams to present the current state of the Canadian Coast Guard’s (CCG) maintenance dredging program to maintain posted navigational water depths in the Detroit River in Ontario. This Industry Engagement Day session is open to all interested stakeholders, suppliers and associations involved in this Industry. Canada will engage Industry in a discussion of the current scope, procurement strategy and key requirements of the maintenance dredging program. Canada is looking for feedback from Industry with regards to: a) ideas related to the current approach that may result in efficiencies and cost savings to Canadians, or b) broader alternative approaches to the overall scope that may result in cost savings to Canadians.
