Description
City of Prince Rupert is seeking proposals from qualified proponents in response to this request for proposals for the provision of Services to be carried out within the required schedule set out herein for the 2nd Avenue sidewalk and Bus Pull-in. With the increase of traffic on 2nd Avenue and the general width of vehicles increase over the years, the Bus Stop is finding difficulties to operate safely. There have been incidents and near misses in the area. This RFP is looking for proponents that can removed the existing curb and 1m of sidewalk and construct a new curb and gutter.
There is existing poles and garbage bins that will need to be relocated. Electrical poles are to remain in place. There is no sub surface work, but an electrical sub-contractor will be needed during construction to make sure no electrical conduits or wires are being compromised. Some electrical may or may not need to be re-routed or moved
Scope of Services
The services will comprise the following for the Project including, without limiting:
(i) Safely Remove approximately 1m width of 70m of curb and gutter
(ii) Compact and place bedding material
(iii) Form and pour new curb and gutter
(iv) Removed asphalt and void area to be replaced with concrete (1m width x 70m)
(v) Curb returns to be determined and agreed upon in the field
(vi) Please use drawing attached as a reference
(vii) All existing sign posts to be relocated approximately 2ft in
(viii) All existing garbage bins and planters to be relocated inwards approximately 2ft
(ix) All existing light standards and electrical to remain in place (junction boxes)
(x) If a light standard or junction box is to be relocated, it will be determined in the field (as an extra change order or time and materials basis)
(xi) Proponent must have an electrical subcontractor inspect all wiring, junction boxes and any other electrical conflicts prior to construction
(xii) All traffic control will be up to proponent
(xiii) Bus and pedestrian traffic to remain uninterrupted
(xiv) If bus stop needs to be temporarily relocated, proponent will work with local bus company to do so
(xv) Any and all engineering, if required, will be up to contractor. Solely dependent on methodology and material usage/placement.
