Located in Ottawa, SCC has a Governing Council comprised of up to 13 members and a staff of approximately 150. The organization reports to Parliament through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and oversees Canada's standardization network.

SCC coordinates and facilitates the work of Canada’s network of standardization stakeholders and offers a range of standardization-related programs and services that are intended to enhance the social and economic well-being of Canadians.
