Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for Supply and Install High-Throughput Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Platform for Screening and Characterization in the Drug Discovery Process.
Biotherapeutics, typified by therapeutic antibodies (mAbs), have demonstrated exceptional efficacies on many diseases. Moreover, the therapeutic response of biotherapeutics can be also greatly enhanced by small molecular enzyme inhibitors.
Our goal is to obtain a high-throughput SPR instrument capable of automating workflows related to the discovery of therapeutic antibodies and small molecular inhibitors, and the screening and characterization of antibody-antigen interactions, enzyme-inhibitor interactions and protein-protein interactions.
The proposed instrumentation will be integrated into the multi-user Western Biotherapeutics Centre in the Department of Biochemistry at Western. This brand new research core will enable us to discover and develop first-in-class therapeutic mAbs, biologics and inhibitors.
The affinities and kinetics of protein-protein, protein-DNA/RNA, and protein-small molecule interactions need to be measured in real-time with high precision and accuracy. All experiments will have the ability to be performed with small amounts of samples, in an automated and high throughput manner. Acquisition of such an SPR system will accelerate the antibody and drug discovery process, allowing thousands of drug candidates, ligands and interactions to be quantified and characterized via capture-based kinetics and affinity screens. Please download the RFP documents for further details.
