Request for Standing Offer (RFSO) for Mechanical Services, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Lethbridge Research Centre

OBJECTIVE:
The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), Lethbridge Research Centre at  5403 -1 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta has a requirement for a Mechanical Company to provide labour, parts and material, tools and equipment, transportation and supervision for various mechanical systems on an "as and when required" basis.

BACKGROUND:  
The Lethbridge Research Centre (LRC) is one of many AAFC Research Centre’s across the country.  The Research Centre operates on a five day basis, Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30 hours, although some experiments are conducted around the clock over extended periods of time.

The LRC consists of a number of multipurpose buildings which facilitate a number of research programs for AAFC. There is a requirement to have in place a Standing Offer at this facility for Mechanical services that would provide staff with an available resource to complete projects. As research programs are approved, there is usually a need for mechanical services for lab renovation and equipment changes. Larger repairs may also be needed to existing infrastructure which cannot be completed by in-house staff. 

SERVICES REQUIRED: 
The types of service include but are not limited to:  
 - repair of motor/pump assemblies systems; 
 - repair, service and installation of heating/cooling coils;
 - repair of various types of plumbing pipes;
 - troubleshooting and repairs to all HVAC systems;
 - repairs to various exhaust systems;
 - install, repair and servicing to all plumbing systems;
 - repairs to any chiller/condenser/domestic/sewage pumps;
 - decommissioning and or/installation of new equipment;
 - emergency services (for identified deficiencies or breakdown of equipment);
 - legislated mechanical maintenance requirements such as annual inspection of unit 
   heaters/furnaces, backflow prevention systems, annual coil cleaning in HVAC systems, duct 
   cleaning, etc.

MANDATORY SITE VISIT: 
It is mandatory that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the site where services will be provided.  Arrangements have been made for a tour of the site on	Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
