Description
The department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has a requirement to conduct a series of outreach programs focused on both the physical and the behavioral sciences behind successful wildfire mitigation practices. The outreach programs will be integral components of a national standardized training program (i.e. FireSmart). Outreach program components will include the coordination of annual national Wildfire Community Preparedness Day activities, delivery of a series of community wildfire protection workshops, establishment of a wildfire home hazard assessment program, implementation of the FireSmart Canada community recognition program, and the establishment of a national First Nations FireSmart advisory committee.
