    Project Description

    The National Research Council of Canada, Automotive and Surface Transportation Portfolio (NRC-AST), in London, ON is proposing the implementation of a Solution Centre to integrate client development and NRC research capabilities. The new facility will be implemented in the existing building located at 800 Collip Circle, in London Ontario. The project consists of several building upgrades including a new vehicle bay / laboratory area that will replace the current inactive “Virtual Reality Environment” Center that is being demolished. The project is part of the Factory of the Future program along with facilities in Montreal and Winnipeg.

    Potential Engineering Consultants are expected to develop a complete specification package encompassing all necessary areas (mechanical, electrical, safety, architectural, etc) with clear instructions and all required information to allow contractors to bid at the job. Instructions on the design to be completed are described in the project scope section.

    SCOPE OF WORK: BASELINE SCOPE

    To elaborate a full detail architectural and engineering report, with drawings and a specification package of all changes/upgrades to be completed in the existing facility to accommodate the new Solutions Centre. The specification package shall include two sections. The first related to the baseline scope and the second related to a set of optional scope items that the NRC may decide to exercise after the contract has been issued to a Construction Contractor.
