    Description

    DELIVERABLES / SCOPE OF WORK

Exterior concrete Fish Ponds at the Mactaquac Fish Hatchery require surface blasting, concrete patching, and extensive substrate preparation work for restoration and recoating application of a specialized resin based sealant coating. Pond sump drains require restoration which shall include replacement of stainless steel cross member supports during the preparation stage of each tank.

This project is an urgent requirement to refinish and recoat 6 existing 36 x 36 foot exterior concrete fish ponds at the Mactaquac Biodiversity Facility, in French Village New Brunswick.

Six (6) large ponds will be refinished during the Fall of 2017 (November, December). Each existing pond will require surface preparation and will require blasting to remove all traces of non-bonded existing dilapidated former coating. Any leaks or concrete cracks in tanks will be repaired. Intermediate coats will then be applied over any bonded existing PPC coating to smooth out the concrete surfaces and fill any bug holes or voids. Two finish coats of PPC QC Resin will be applied in order to seal and waterproof each of the six tanks being restored. Pond sump drains are rusted and require all new stainless steel metal supports to reattach aluminum pond filter screens. Please refer to the combined design drawing and PPC coating manufacturers recoating specification included as a separate document provided by a consulting engineer.
