Nature of Requirements:
The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement for physiotherapy services at Springhill Institution in Springhill, Nova Scotia.
Objectives:
Provide and coordinate essential physiotherapy services to inmates at Springhill Institution.
Deliverables:
The Contractor must provide essential physiotherapy services to inmates, as requested by the institutional physician or Chief of Health Services, in accordance with the National Essential Health Services Framework, including any amendment to this Framework issued by CSC during the contract period and any optional period if and when exercised by CSC. This essential service shall include assessments, treatment and the provision of patient education.
The Contractor must prepare physiotherapy clinic lists and appointment schedules triaged based on consults received and emergencies as they arise.
The Contractor, in his/her role as a physiotherapist, must manage all aspects of physiotherapy services including coordination of care provided by other pertinent specialists to inmates to ensure continuity and integration of care.
The Contractor must document physiotherapy assessments, treatment, and consultations in the inmate’s electronic medical file in accordance with professional standards of practice.
The Contractor must consult with the Chief Health Services regarding requirements for physiotherapy supplies and equipment. Any requests for equipment and supplies must be submitted to, and approved by, the Chief Health Services.
The Contractor must provide the following:
Backup personnel to ensure that there will not be any interruption in service and that Canada’s operational requirements are met when the Contractor is unable to provide services (including but not limited to, due to vacation or illness).
The Contractor must perform routine maintenance of on-site physiotherapy equipment and advise the Chief of Health Services of all necessary maintenance and repair work that must be completed by a technician.
Requests for Special Authorization items that are being recommended by the Contractor are made in accordance with CSC’s Essential Health Services Framework.
Term of Contract:
Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of April 1st, 2018 to March 31st, 2019 with the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods.
