Description of Work:
Health Canada requires the services of four (4) B.6 Business Systems Analyst – L2.
- Objectives
Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is responsible for pesticide regulation in Canada. The agency operates within a context of increasing expectations for timeliness and efficiency; rapidly evolving science, technology and business practices; globalization of pesticide supply chains; and changing pest management needs, in part due to climate change and invasive species. This means that PMRA must always strive to identify new and better ways to do its work, be it PMRA’s core science-based regulatory decisions, the supportive policy or engagement and administrative activities PMRA staff undertake every day.
PMRA’s strategic plan focuses on enhancing openness and transparency, and improving organizational and workforce excellence.
The Business Systems Analyst will be required to support various strategies to strengthen PMRA’s ability to be a modern, mobile workforce while supporting compliance and enforcement excellence.
- Background
PMRA is regulating in an era of instant access to unprecedented amounts of information, with social media transforming how citizens communicate with their governments and with each other. Now, more than ever, PMRA must position itself as both a reliable source of information, as well as an open and transparent regulator that takes into account the views of stakeholders and the public in its science-based regulatory decision-making. In pursuit of an efficient, interconnected and adaptable organization with improved processes, structures and systems, PMRA has a proposed approach for enhancing business processes, supporting technologies, and IT operations including systems for unpublished scientific studies, product composition and other confidential business information. Therefore, PMRA requires four (4) Business Systems Analyst; Level 2 over a period of three (3) years to support its Business Transformation Initiatives.
