    Description

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) Freshwater Quality Monitoring and Surveillance program monitors and reports on the long-term status and trends of contaminants fish collected from water bodies across Canada. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will cover the analyses for several contaminants of concern to support the activities of the program. ECCC will be responsible for the collection, preparation and shipping of the fish samples; while the Contractor will be responsible for the analysis of prepared fish samples. Samples will be shipped frozen from ECCC to the Contractor’s laboratory. The Contractor must demonstrate that they have the capacity and facilities to store samples frozen upon receipt to maintain sample integrity.

Under this RFP, the Contractor is being asked to provide analytical services including the results of analyses and extracts to ECCC as and when requested during the period of the contract (one + 2 option years). Given the nature of catching fish, ECCC cannot guarantee the number of samples that will be submitted for analysis in any given year.

All analyses will be performed on whole body homogenates of fish as and when requested, for some or all parameters listed.
