    5P420-18-0403/A – Whirlpool Residence Foundation Replacement – Riding Mountain National Park

    Requirement:

    Parks Canada Agency requires a contractor to replace the foundation at the Whirlpool Warden’s Residence. There is presence of large cracks in the existing foundation and cracking can also be found within the concrete floor slab of the basement and gaps under the sill plate of the building.

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $100,001 > $ 250,000 Taxes extra

    Project Timeline:

    Work to commence as early in the spring of 2019 as possible after removal of heritage masonry by Parks Canada masons, in consultation with departmental representative.

    The Contractor shall perform and complete all onsite Work by December 31, 2019

    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

    There will be an optional site visit on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm CST. Interested bidders are to meet at Whirlpool Warden's Residence is located at the Riding Mountain National Park East Gate Registration Complex National Historic Site; situated at the east end of Highway #19 where it exits the park at the east boundary. If accessing the area from the province, the Whirlpool Warden's Residence is 3 miles (5 km) west of the intersection of Provincial Trunk Highway #5 and Provincial Trunk Highway #19.

    Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority before the optional site visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.

    National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
