Granville Island 2040 Development Strategy Consulting Services

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) recently completed a comprehensive visioning report Granville Island 2040: Bridging Past and Future (the “2040 Report”) sets out the steps towards a revitalized Granville Island. The 2040 Report recommends that CMHC undertake a number of initiatives in support of four strategic priorities to 1. Improve access; 2. Expand the Public Market and create a Market district; 3. Embrace arts and innovation; and 4. Restore and sustain the public realm. The 2040 report is available here: http://granvilleisland2040.ca/

Included in these recommended actions is a variety of potential new development opportunities, along with a number of recommended public realm and infrastructure investments. The 2040 report states that the project implementation is to be funded through a combination of CMHC-Granville Island-led initiatives and third-party investments.

CMHC wishes to enter into an Agreement with a real estate development consultant with specific expertise in development finance and capital investment planning for the purpose of providing real estate development strategies to Granville Island in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Specifically, the consulting firm will be responsible to research and draft a Discussion Paper on the existing conditions, which they will use as the foundation for the developing, finalizing and presenting of the Granville Island 2040 Development Strategy (the “Strategy”) report to CMHC and the Granville Island Council. 

The anticipated term of the Agreement is for eight (8) months.

Bids must be received at the location specified in the RFP document on or before the submission deadline of 11:00 am, PDT, on September 24, 2019.
