Brave New Work

Technologies like automation and other workplace innovations are having a significant impact on Canadian labour markets and career opportunities. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is seeking support to better understand these shifts, with a focus on unique conditions, challenges, and opportunities in western Canada. The goal is to inform the department’s investments and partnerships in order to help western Canadians adapt and thrive in the new economy.

WD requires research and policy proposals related to the changing nature of work. These deliverables should incorporate regional analysis for western Canada, including specific communities and industries where possible. WD requires opportunities to work with project coordinators and researchers to focus on important western Canadian challenges and opportunities. WD also requires opportunities to engage with stakeholders on these issues to build stronger national and regional partnerships.
