    Description

    The Canadian Space Agency intends to upgrade the water main system at the David Florida Laboratory, Ottawa. 

    • The work will take place at the David Florida Laboratory (3701 Carling Avenue, CP11490, Succ. H, Ottawa Ontario K2H 8S2).
    • All work must be completed no later than 22 weeks after contract award.

    Amendment 1

    • New closing date: June xx, 2020 at 10:00 am EDT

    Postponing of the optional site visit:

    • In "Part 1 - General Information" of the Request for Proposal, under section "4. Optional site visit"
      • Remove "June 10, 2020 at 10:00 am"
      • Insert "June 17, 2020 at 10:00 am"

    Arrangements have been made for non-mandatory site visit to be held on June 17th, 2020, at 10:00am at the David Florida Laboratory (3701 Carling Avenue, CP11490, Succ. H, Ottawa Ontario K2H 8S2).

    • The bidders MUST communicate with the Contracting Authority to confirm attendance and provide the name of the person who will attend 48 hours in advance.

    Amendment 2: First set of questions & answers

    Question 1: On drawing E4, substation 65A shows a new 300a breaker feeding a 600A ATS connected to a 200a breaker at the generator. Please confirm the breaker and feeder sizes required.

    Answer 1: The plan is to add a new 300A breaker at the generator (with new split lugs). Refer to distribution feeder schedule on E-1 for wire details.

    Question 2: On drawing M4, under new work note #4, removal of two main vertical support beams. Are these beams part of the building structure or are these beams which connect the control panel to the pump base?

    Answer 2: The vertical supports are part of the fire pump package, not connected to building structure.

    • New closing date: June 30, 2020 at 10:00 am EDT
    • New document: Photos included to provide visual representation of electrical panels

    Question 3: During the optional site visit, it was mentioned that once construction starts the area affected by construction would no longer be considered a clean room. Can you confirm that this is still the case and no additional barriers are required to keep the clean room requirement. If this is not the case, can you provide us with areas that are considered a clean room.

    Answer 3: B7-a and B7-b, where the new generator electrical feeds and communications are to be installed, should be considered clean rooms for the duration of construction. All other areas where construction takes place are not considered clean rooms.
