    Interim National Training Academy (NTA) Temporary Scaffolding Rental

    This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Regional Headquarters (RHQ) Ontario, Ontario Staff College

     

    Trade agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), Canada free trade agreements with Chile/Colombia/Honduras/Panama.

    Tendering procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid.

    Competitive Procurement Strategy: lowest priced compliant bid

    Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business: This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Aboriginal Suppliers.

    Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.

    Nature of Requirements:

    The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement:

    The Correctional Service Canada (CSC) has a requirement for the rental of temporary scaffolding at three (3) buildings (Calderwood Houses) located on the ground of CSC’s Regional Headquarters, in Kingston Ontario. This includes:

    • The supply, delivery, installation and maintenance of the scaffolding;

    • Certified drawings and monthly inspection certificates;

    • Disassembly, and removal of the scaffolding at the end of the rental period.

    Objectives:

    For the rental service of temporary scaffolding at the National Training Academy (NTA) which includes the design, supply, delivery, installation and maintenance of scaffolding.

    Deliverables:

    All Deliverables must be completed in English and be submitted to the Project Authority. Deliverables may include, but not limited to the items below.

    The Contractor must :

    1. Submit a bar chart construction schedule for the installation progress of the scaffolding;

    2. Submit stamped engineered shop drawings within 2 weeks of contract award in electronic format (pdf format to the Project Authority for the sole purpose to ascertain conformance with the general design concept, and does not mean approval of the design details inherent in the shop drawing. This review does not relieve the Contractor of responsibility for errors or omissions in the shop drawings,or for meeting all requirements of the work.

    3. The shop drawings must have stamp and signature of qualified Professional Engineer registered or licensed in the Province of Ontario, and as required by the codes, acts and regulations. The services of the Professional Engineer is the responsibility of the Contractor.

    4. Before commencing the work, the Contractor must establish location and extent of services lines in the area of work and notify Project Authority. The Contractor must provide a hard copy of the completed location plans to the Project Authority;

    5. Upon completion of the scaffolding installation, the Professional Engineer must perform a final inspection and/or test necessary to substantiate that the material or services provided conform to design;

    6. Submit certified letter by the Professional Engineer confirming the work is completed in accordance to the code, acts, and regulations;

    7. Perform monthly safety inspections of scaffolding and scaffold components. An updated inspection tag is to be provided at each entrance to the structure.

      All deliverables must be provided in soft copies (electronic format).

    Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of date of contract award to March 31, 2022 with the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods.
