    Description

    Introduction:

    Fisheries and Oceans Canada would is seeking to hire a contractor to replace and modernize the main electrical equipment at Cowichan River Hatchery, which has reached the end of its serviceable life.

    Scope of Work:

    Work required under this contract comprises of electrical upgrades for Cowichan hatchery facility. The work includes, but is not limited to:

    • Provide new equipment and remove end of service life equipment as indicated on contract documents.
    • Replace existing main distribution in the electrical building including the incoming service section, automatic transfer switch, and the existing motor control center “MCC”.
    • Relocate the existing generator battery rack.
    • Provide a new control panel within the electrical building.
    • Replace existing end of life distribution in the old hatchery building (Interpretive building).
    • Remove all out of service equipment located in the old hatchery building.
    • Replace the existing 480V heater in the hatchery shop with 600V heater.

    Contractor shall obtain and pay for all permits required to perform the work outlined in the Contract Documents including but not limited to electrical and building permits.

    Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement:

    This procurement is not subject to any Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement

    Mandatory Site Visit

    There will be a Mandatory Site Visit at 2380 Hatchery Rd, Duncan, BC, V9L 3Y2 on Thursday April 21, 2022. The site visit will begin at 10h:00 am Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)

    Security Requirement:

    Escort required at DFO site(s)

    • The supplier and all individuals assigned to work on the contract or arrangement MUST NOT have access to PROTECTED or CLASSIFIED information/assets.
    • The supplier and all individuals assigned to work on the contract or arrangement MUST NOT have unescorted access to restricted access areas of Fisheries and Oceans Canada facilities, or Canadian Coast Guard vessels.
    • The supplier and all individuals assigned to work on the contract or arrangement MUST NOT remove any PROTECTED or CLASSIFIED information/assets from DFO site(s).
    • Subcontracts or arrangements with a third party are not to be awarded without the prior written permission of the Contracting Authority (i.e. a new SRCL must be submitted and processed following the same procedure as for the initial contract).

    Work Location:

    Cowichan River Hatchery is located in Duncan BC, at 2380 Hatchery Rd.

    Period of Contract:

    The period of contract shall be from date of award to August 15, 2022.
