    DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT

On behalf of all Canadians, Parks Canada protects and presents nationally significant examples of Canada's natural and cultural heritage, and foster public understanding, appreciation and enjoyment in ways that ensure the ecological and commemorative integrity of these places for present and future generations.

Parks Canada has a small in-house video production team. From time to time, this team requires video production support, either for capturing video on-location in national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas, or for post-production using existing media, or both. The resulting videos are posted on Parks Canada’s website and social media channels.

Parks Canada requires the services of a contractor to record and/or edit, often on short notice, videos for Parks Canada’s website and social media channels.
The audience will vary somewhat depending on the topic of each video, however they will be primarily intended for adult Canadians with an interest in the conservation and restoration of national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas or with an interest in visiting these places. The target audience will not necessarily have in-depth scientific knowledge.

The Contractor will be required to record and/or edit videos and deliver the resulting files to Parks Canada. In most cases, Parks Canada will provide a shot list and/or script and will provide necessary direction. Most videos will be shot documentary / ENG style with a one-person crew handling both sound and camera, however some shoots may also include scenes that would require a sound recordist, lighting and/or a teleprompter operator. The resulting videos will be approximately 2-5 minutes long, depending on the content, and will be produced in Canadian English and French for the Parks Canada website and YouTube and Facebook channels.

    PERIOD OF THE CONTRACT

The period of the Contract is from date of Contract to March 31 2019 inclusive.

    OPTION TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT

The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to two (2) additional one (1) year period under the same conditions. The Contractor agrees that, during the extended period of the Contract, it will be paid in accordance with the applicable provisions as set out in the Basis of Payment.

Canada may exercise this option at any time by sending a written notice to the Contractor at least 30 calendar days before the expiry date of the Contract. The option may only be exercised by the Contracting Authority, and will be evidenced for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment.

    SECURITY REQUIREMENT

There are no security requirements associated with this requirement.

    CANADIAN CONTENT

The requirement is limited to Canadian goods and/or services.

    Delivery Date: Above-mentioned

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.

Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
