Enterprise Backup & Restore Software Solution 



Canada has an initial requirement for a commercially available
for Enterprise Backup and Restore Software Solution (the
"Software Solution") for approximately 70 Terabytes (TB). The
required Software Solution must include the Licensed Software, a
12-month warranty, software maintenance and support, and
documentation. Training and professional services must also be
provided, if requested. The bid solicitation is intended to
result in the award of a contract for 1 year, plus 6 one-year
irrevocable option(s) allowing Canada to extend the term of the
contract.

All parts of the Software Solution must be available to the
Client Users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in
English, and operate at all times in accordance with the
Statement of Requirements in the Client's operational
environment described in Annex 'A' - Statement of Requirements.
The Software Solution must work within the technical environment
described in the Annex 'A' - Statement of Requirements. The term
"Client User" refers to the employees of the Government of
Canada, the Minister's office and staff, and other individuals
authorized by the Client to perform services in relation to the
business and affairs of the Client, including contractors or
consultants performing work for the Client from time to time.
Although Canada may make the Software Solution available to any
or all the Clients, this bid solicitation does not preclude
Canada from using another method of supply for entities of the
Government of Canada with the same or similar needs.

Passport Canada is the Initial Client that will use the Software
Solution. However, this bid solicitation will also allow Canada
to make the Software Solution available to any Government
Department, Departmental Corporation or Agency, or other body of
the Government of Canada (including all those described in the
Financial Administration Act, as amended from time to time) or
any other party for which the Department of Public Works and
Government Services is authorized to act from time to time under
section 16 of the Department of Public Works and Government
Services Act (each a "Client"). 

The requirement is subject to the provisions of the World Trade
Organization Agreement on Government Procurement (WTO-AGP), the
North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Canada-Chile
Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA), the Canada-Colombia Free Trade
Agreement, the Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement and the
Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT).
