    PROJECT IDENTIFICATION:
    Project number R.052598.506 -  Big Chaudiere Dam Replacement,
    located on the French River, Dokis, Ontario.
    
    PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
    This requirement is for the replacement of the Big Chaudiere Dam
    located on the French River at Dokis First Nation Reserve,
    Dokis, Ontario. The work consist of, but not be limited to, the
    following:
    
    .1                Construction of a new dam to replace the
    existing one; and
    .2                Demolition and removal of the existing dam and
    identified components.
    
    Due to the remoteness and the location of the dam which is only
    accessible by passing through the Dokis First Nation reserve
    lands, bidders are encouraged to employ the available local
    workforce and utilize the available quarried aggregates through
    the community of Dokis. For information, please contact Art

    Bidders are advised that the Okikendawt Hydroelectric Project is
    currently in progress at the Portage Dam which is located at
    approximately 500 m for the Big Chaudière Dam site. For
    information on the Okikendawt Hydroelectric Project, please
    contact Daniel Gillenwater, Project Engineer, Hydromega Services
    Inc., 514-392-9266 x 108 during business hours.
    
    Bidders are advised that approximately 120,000 m3 of rock
    (in-situ) is available free of cost at the nearby graveyard pit
    (less than 5 km from project site). Varied range of aggregate
    size is available from blasting activities completed in the
    Portage channel as part of the Okikendawt Hydroelectric Project.

    Work is to be completed within one hundred and twenty (120)
    weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this
    opportunity is within the following category: Above
    $5,000,001.00.
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:   
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement. At
    bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated
    Organization Screening (DOS). Failure to comply with this
    requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further
    consideration will be given to the Bid. 
    
    SITE VISIT:

    Interested bidders shall meet at the the Big Chaudiere Dam
    located on the French River at Dokis First Nation Reserve,
    Dokis, Ontario.
    
    It is mandatory that all persons attending the site visit have
    the proper (CSA approved green patch) safety atire. Safety
    footwear, hard hats, glasses and vests. Contractor's
    personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire
    will be denied access to the site.
