    PROJECT IDENTIFICATION:   
    R.065054.001 - Compressor Replacement and Ventilation Upgrade

    Project Description English: 
    Within Test Cell 1, there are two chassis dynamometers that are used to testemissions on a wide variety of vehicles (including passenger cars, large trucks and busses) as well as small and medium engines.  This project’s main objectives are the following:
    1. Replace the existing ventilation and exhaust systems which no longer meet current codes and best engineering practices;
    2. Replace the existing cooling system with a new system that will meet the required temperature and humidity conditions for emission testing at all year-round outdoor conditions, and;
    3. Replace ancillary components of the existing ventilation and cooling systemsthat are nearing the end of their useful service life.
    
    Work is to be completed within sixty (60) weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the followingcategory: $1,000,001 to $5,000,000.
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:  
     
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement.  At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS).  Failure to comply with thisrequirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further consideration will be given to the Bid. 
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:  
    
    There will be a site visit on December 8, 2015 at 10:00am.  Interested bidders shall meet at the main lobby of Environment Canada, 335 River Road, Ottawa, Ontario.
    
    Safety Attire - It is mandatory that all individuals attending the site visit have proper safety footwear (CSA approved green patch) and safety glasses. Contractor personnel/individuals who do nothave proper safety attire will be denied access to the site.
