    Project description:    
    PWGSC requires phased construction services for 5th and 7th floors at Place Du Portage - Phase IV, Gatineau, Quebec for the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). 
    
    Phase 1: The full 5th floor 5,284m2 (currently vacant) general office space demolition and new fit-up construction. Project includes new ceiling, light fixtures, blinds and carpets, and fit-up of new general office space.
    
    Phase 2: Partial 7th floor 1,431m2 (currently occupied - demolition NIC by others). Project includes new ceiling, light fixtures, blinds andcarpets, and fit-up of new general office space. The construction hoarding of the demolition project (by others) will remain for use by this construction project. This floor will continue to be partially occupied during construction and must maintain operations.
    
    Work is to be completed within 38 weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following category: $1M to $5M. 
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:  
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement.  At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS). Failure to comply with this requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and nofurther consideration will be given to the Bid. Also, the Contractor/Offerer personnel requiring access to sensitive work site(s) must each hold a Reliability Status granted or approved by CISD/PWGSC.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:  
    It is recommended that theBidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at Place du Portage - Phase IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec on Thursday January 5, 2017. The site visit will begin at 1:30 p.m. (EST). 
    
    Interested bidders must contact the Contracting Officer by Friday December 30, 2016 or before to provide the name of the persons attending the site visit. A valid photo ID will be required to be guaranteed access to the building. Note that there is no available parking at the Place du Portage - Phase IV. Bidders will be responsible for their parking expenses.
    
    Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
