    The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is replacing its existing air compressor system that is used to generate compressed air forlaboratory grade nitrogen generation.  This is a Turn-Key Project, the successful bidder is responsible to supply and install 2 new air compressors as described in this document complete with independent air filtration stations.  It is critical that during the installation process that there can be NO interruption of compressed air to laboratory operations.  The bidder is responsible for the removal and disposal of two existing Atlas Copco GA11 Air Compressors, electrical transformers and associated air filtration station.  The contractor is required to remove existing 440 volt transformers and install new 600 volt disconnect switches for each air compressor. The only components to be reused from the existing systems are the condensate management system and the secondary vertical receiver.  Due to unique site conditions a mandatory site visit will be required for all bidders; the new compressors shall be installed on the existing housekeeping pad in the mechanical penthouse.  The compressors and air stations shall be configured to allow for ease of maintenance servicing. Please refer to the Request for Proposal for the detailed technical requirements. 
    
    It is mandatory that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at CFIA Dartmouth Laboratory, 1992 Agency Drive, Dartmouth NS B3B 1Y9 on Monday October 31st, 2016. The site visit will begin at 13:00 HRS (Atlantic Time), in room A156. You must advise the Contracting Authority if you plan to have a representative attend this site visit.
