    Nature of Requirements
    
    The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) have a requirement to build and deliver (1) new Near Shore Fishery Research Vessel (NSFRV). The primary function of the NSFRV is oceanographic science. Secondary missions require capabilities consistent with search and rescue and environmental response.
    
    The period of the Contract is from date of Contract Award to two (2) year after delivery and acceptance of the vessel.
    
    The epost Connect service provided by Canada Post Corporation must be used by Bidders to transmit their bid electronically. Bidders must refer to Part 2 entitled Bidder Instructions and Part 3 of the Bid Preparation Instructions, of the solicitation, for further information on using this method.
    
    The Phased Bid Compliance Process applies to this requirement. 
    
    Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
