The CCGS Corporal McLaren M.M.V. is a Hero class vessel built and placed in service in 2013. The vessel underwent a major flooding incident in 2018 and requires a major rebuild involving the replacement of nearly the entire electrical system, much of the mechanical systems and a rebuild of the accommodations as well as the spaces located on the lower and main decks, which were submerged in water. The first phase consist of cleaning the vessel.

The Canadian Coast Guard has a requirement to remove all contaminated porous materials, mould, fuel, oil or other contaminants to allow for safe access to all spaces of the CCGS Corporal McLaren vessel in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Statement of Work - Annex A.

The Work will be completed at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) in Dartmouth, NS., where the vessel is docked alongside.

The Work must be completed within four (4) months after the contract award date.

There is a mandatory vessel viewing associated with this requirement.

Due to the current situation with the corona virus, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) invites companies to pre-qualify by submitting their technical bid and certifications by the closing date of the solicitation. Arrangements to view the vessel will be done at a later date. Financial bids will be requested once the vessel viewing is complete.
