    Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) intends to retain a Contractor to provide construction services for the project as set out in this Request for Proposal (RFP), detailed in Annex A - Specification and Drawings. The project consists of the remediation of two historical waste pits referred to as the East and West Middens, located at the Bar U Ranch National Historical Site. The site is located approximately 13 kilometres (km) south of Longview Alberta. The work consists of the excavation of the existing surface cover and construct an improved cap (earth fill/geotextile and geomembrane) system at each waste midden. In addition the Contractor will grade and seed the middens to promote surface water drainage and soil stability. The contractor will also be required to supply and place borrow material in order to complete the remediation work.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT AND BIDDERS’ CONFERENCE
    
    1. There will be a site visit and bidders’ conference on June 13, 2019 at 13:00 (MT). Interested bidders are to meet at the Visitor Centre at BAR-U Ranch, National Historic Site for initial gathering and then drive into the field for site reconnaissance. 
    
    Bidders should communicate with the Contracting Authority by 16:00 (MT) on June 11, 2019 to confirm attendance and provide the names of the person(s) who will attend. Please e-mail isabelle.bilous@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca or call 780-782-8714 to register.
    
    2. Safety Attire - It is mandatory that all persons attending the site visit have the proper personal protection equipment (safety glasses, footwear, vests, etc.). Contractor personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire may be denied access to the site.
    
    All travel and living costs associated with travel to the site for the purpose of attending the Site Visit/Bidder's Conference will be borne by the Contractor or their representative.
    
    3. There is a possibility that due to weather conditions the site visit may be cancelled.
    
    4. It is the responsibility of the attendees to bring their own food and water on the site visit, food and water will NOT be provided.
    
    5. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the bidders' conference will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. Bidders who do not attend will not be precluded from submitting a bid.
    
    Bidders are responsible for obtaining copies of bid forms and special instructions and amendments issued prior to bid closing, and are to ensure they are addressed in the submitted bid. 
    
    VALUE OF PROJECT
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between: Category 2 - $100,001 and $ 250,000
