Work under this contract involves the supply of all labour, materials, and equipment required for the construction of a 300 m2 greenhouse expansion to the existing Harrington Research Farm Greenhouse.  The existing greenhouse was constructed in 2011 and is located on Brackley Point Road, in Harrington, PE.  In addition to the new 300 m2 greenhouse, the work also includes the supply and construction of an at grade separate entry to the new greenhouse and access to the basement corridor.  Within the scope of work is training for and commissioning of all greenhouse operating systems to assure anintegrated complex, consisting of the existing header house, the existing greenhouse and the new 300 m2 greenhouse expansion (and entry/access).

All work is to be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications for Project Number: R.072545.001 forming part of the bid document.

Site of Work is at:  Harrington, PEI

There will be a site visit on February 2, 2016 at 10:00am. Interested bidders are to meet at Harrington Research Farm, 1200 Brackley Point Road, Harrington PEI.

Bidders arerequested to communicate with the Contracting Authority 2 day(s) before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend.  Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form.  Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid.

Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bidsolicitation.

The estimate for this opportunity is within the following cost category:  $2 mil. - $2.5 mil. (HST extra).

The Contractor shall perform and complete the work by February 28, 2017.
 
New measures related to integrity provisions included in the solicitation documents requires attention.

A public bid opening will be held at the Bid Receiving Unit, 3 Queen Street, Charlottetown, PE.
