Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for the renovation and addition to an operational airport terminal building located in Wabush, NL. Location of work is at the Wabush Airport, 2 Airport Road, Wabush, NL.

The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• To demolish the interior of the existing airport in phases. Demolition and removal effect Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical. 

• The intent is that during deconstruction and construction the airport is to remain fully operational. 

• Hazmat Abatement is part of this work of this contract.  Existing surveys of Asbestos included, refer to Section 02 82 00.02 

• Contractor responsible for all temporary moves, hook-ups, connections and hoarding to ensure clear working areas and open areas for the working airport.

Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2017-04-27) for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.

FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed, the means of access and the temporary facilities required to perform the Work. 

Obtain prior permission from the Departmental Representative before carrying out such site inspection.
