Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Pedestal Upgrade -Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) - Southside Base (SSB), St. John’s, NL F6879-189232/A Contact Name: Patricia Chaulk Telephone: 709-689-3272 Fax: 709-772-4603 Email: Patricia.Chaulk@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS A SECURITY REQUIREMENT Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for Pedestal Upgrades at the Canadian Coast Guard - Southside Base, St. John’s, NL Work of this contract comprises of all civil, structural and electrical work associated with the electrical upgrades to the wharf power pedestals located at the Canadian Coast Guard Southside Base in St. John’s. In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: • Electrical upgrades to be completed on Pedestals #1, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 and #8. Scheduling of upgrade priority to be confirmed with Departmental Representative. Pedestals #1, #3 and #4 to be prioritized. • Power pedestals #1, #4, #5, #6, #7 and #8 to have new concrete housing extensions. OPTIONAL SITE VISIT It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a tour of the work site. The site visit will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 9:00 am and will depart from the main entrance of the St. John’s Southside Base (280 Southside Road), St. John's, NL. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2018-06-21) for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
