    Wharf Reconstruction, Harbour Grace, NL
    
    Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of Department of Fisheries and Oceans Small Craft Harbour (DFO-SCH), has a requirement that consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for Wharf Reconstruction, in Harbour Grace, NL. 
    
    Note that the Contractor must incorporate COVID-19 standardized protocols in their site specific Health and Safety Plan. 
    
    In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
    
    1. Demolition and removal of existing marginal wharf and finger pier.
    2. Demolition and removal of existing concrete launchway.
    3. Demolition and removal of existing waste oil tank (clean, purge and store) and concrete slab on grade pad and replace with new as indicated. Re-install existing waste oil tank.
    4. Remove and relocate existing shed.  Demolition and removal of existing shed foundation and reinstallation of existing shed on new concrete foundation.
    5. Supply and install new treated timber cribwork marginal wharf and finger pier, phased as indicated, complete with reinforced concrete deck, timber wheelguard, fenders, ladders and mooring cleats.
    6. Cribs will need to be scribed to hard bottom.
    7. Dredge harbour bottom in area indicated to -3.0m, unless otherwise noted on the drawings.
    8. Re-grade existing approach and place new asphalt pavement as indicated.
    9. Supply and install new reinforced retaining wall and chain link fence.
    10. Coordination of demolition and removal of sewer pipes and manholes.
    11. Supply and install new catch basins and PVC pipe drains.
    12. Supply and install new rip-rap protection.
    13. Supply and installation of new water line from main road.
    14. Supply and install new electrical including shed.
    15. Supply and install new recon block retaining wall.
    
    The declared value of the material supplied by Canada for this project is $14,100.00 (HST extra). This amount shall be added to the contract value when determining the amount of insurance required under the Builder’s Risk / Installation Floater coverage.
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 28 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
