This project involves the interior painting of the Government of Canada Building at 149 McDougal Road in Fort Smith, NT. The Contractor is expected to do the majority of the work during evenings and weekends to minimize disruption to the tenants within the building. The following scheduling constraints must also be factored into the Contractors bidding and scheduling of the work:
• Painting in Parks Canada area can only occur from September to end of March of the following year.
• Painting in GNT ENR area can only occur from October to end of March of the following year.
• Canada Post will not allow painting from the beginning of November to end of January of the following year.
• Painting in any Tenant areas can only be done after normal Tenant work hours (8AM-5PM) and weekends.
• Work will be undertaken with continuous monitoring by a commissionaire or equivalent (paid for by owner).
• Contractor to not prohibit the continuous operation of the building.
• Contractor will be expected to relocate some office material in the GNT-ENR space to complete painting in that area. In the remaining tenant areas office furniture will not be moved so Contractor is expected to paint surfaces available in those office areas.

Because of these restrictions, it is strongly recommended that bidders attend the optional site visit. 

The project should be completed by June 2019.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $100,001 and $250,000.

NOTICE - OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site.  Arrangements have been made for a tour of the work site.

There will be a site visit on October 30, 2018 at 7:30 am. Interested bidders are to meet at:

The names of each individual attending the site visit along with the name of the firm they represent, should be provided to the Contracting Authority by October 26, 2018 in order to gain access to the site.
          
NOTE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS:

Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.

Faxed submission will NOT be accepted. Only revisions are accepted via fax.
