    Work Description:
    Work to be done under this Contract comprises, but is not limited to, 
    the provision of all labour, materials, services and equipment 
    necessary for the construction of immigration holding centre at 13130 
    76th Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia.
    
    Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited 
    to:
    - Exterior and interior renovation, roofing replacement, supply and 
    installation of furniture and fixtures
    - Structural Upgrade
    - Mechanical, plumbing and sprinkler system
    - Electrical, power, communication, security and audio-visual system
    - Landscape improvement
    - Civil regarding re-grading, repaving and site services alterations
    - Supply and installation of kitchen equipment
    - Supply and installation of new elevator
    
    Bid Depository:
    The General Contractor must obtain bids for the Mechanical and 
    Electrical trades through BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors 
    (BOBS) according to its rules of procedure (www.bidcentral.ca/bobs). 
    All questions regarding BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors is 
    
    to be referred to the BOBS Administrator as indicated in the BOBS rules 
    
    of procedures. 
    
    The General Contractor must instruct the Mechanical and Electrical 
    Trade Contractors bidding directly to the General Contractor to bid on 
    the scope of the work as defined in the BOBS rules ofprocedures (e.g. 
    trade definitions, specification sections etc.).
    
    Notwithstanding anything else contained in this bid solicitation, no 
    Bidder, General Contractor or Subcontractor or any other person or 
    entity will have any claim whatsoever (including but not limited to a 
    claim of negligence) or any compensation of any kind whatsoever against 
    
    Canada as a result of participation in or use of BOBS, or participation 
    
    in the BOBS process, or as a result of the interpretation, application 
    or non-application of their rules of procedure.
    
    
    Optional Site Visit:
    Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a 
    tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary 
    to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and 
    
    extent of the work. A site visit is scheduled on Wednesday, June 28th, 
    2017 at 3:30pm local time. Interested contractors will meet the 
    departmental representative at 13130 76th Avenue, Surrey, British 
    Columbia. Meet at the front entrance of 13130 76th Avenue, Surrey. Site 
    
    is a construction zone, PPE, hard hat, steel toe boots, and high
    visibility vest are required.
    
    Second Optional Site Meeting
    There will be a second site visit on July 13, 2017at3:30p.m. 
    Interested bidders are to meet at the front entrance of 13130 76th 
    Avenue, Surrey. Site is a construction zone, PPE, hard hat, steel toe 
    boots, and high visibility vest are required.
    
    Third Optional Site Meeting
    There will be a third site meeting on August 1, 2017 at 10:00a.m. 
    Interested bidders are to meet at the front entrance of 13130 76th 
    Avenue, Surrey. Site is a construction zone, PPE, hard hat, steel toe 
    boots, and high visibility vest are required.
    
    
    
    Delivery Date:
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of 
    acceptanceof tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be 
    completed within fifty-seven (57) weeks after contract award.

    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is 
    estimated to cost between $22,500,000.00 to $23,500,000.00.
