Tenderers should note that Attachment File(s)contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure. Work Description: Work to be performed under the Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following items, including all ancillary Work, covered further in the Contract: excavation and offsite disposal of contaminated material and backfilling. Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work. Optional Site Visit: Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm Mountain Standard Time. This site is located at Km 537.9 on the Alaska Highway, which is approximately 80 km west of Fort Nelson. Entrance to the Maintenance Camp is on the south side of the Alaska Highway at a viewpoint pull out. The Site Visit will continue at the Mill Creek Gravel Pit (Km 552) at 4:00 pm Mountain Standard Time. Entrance to the Gravel Pit is on the south side of the Alaska Highway on the road down to the Tetsa River Campground. Bidders are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Bidders should arrive at the Bidders Meeting with PPE (i.e. hard hat, safety boots, reflective vest). Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed in accordance with the following Schedule Requirements: - Work to be initiated: within 5 Working Days of Contract Award. - Pre-Mobilization Submittals: within 10 Working Days of Contract Award. - Mobilization: within 10 Working Days of Contract Award. - Site Works: Final Completion no later than 2018 Oct. 01. - Offsite Treatment and Disposal Works: Final Completion no later than 2018 Dec. 01. - Completion of the Work: no later than 2019 February 28th. Includes all Final Submittals including as-built documents, the Certificate of Completion, and the Statutory Declaration at Final Completion. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender (solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid.
