    Work Description:
    
    Work under the Contract covers remediation of contaminated material by excavation and placement in offsite Public Works owned Soil Treatment Facility and/or offsite disposal.
    
    Work to be performed under the Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following items covered further in the Contract:
    
    - Prime Contractor for health and safety and environmental protection at Site.
    - All required design activities to complete Work.
    - Pre-mobilization Submittals.
    - Progress Submittals, including cash flow and forecasting.
    - Prepare Site for Work, including clearing site as required and provision of onsite temporary office facilities for Departmental Representative and consultants.
    - Planning, inspection, preparation and closure of Owner Soil Treatment Facility as shown on Drawings.
    - Plan excavation, including geotechnical design as required.
    - Design and operate Contaminated Water treatment Plant.
    - Design and install temporary shoring support as required to allow excavation to extents shown on Drawings.
    - Remove and Replace existing infrastructure.
    - Excavate Non-Contaminated Material as instructed by the Departmental Representative
    - Excavate Contaminated Material as instructed by the Departmental Representative
    - Excavation of Contaminated Material to extents as shown on Drawings with zero percent residual contamination or as instructed by the Departmental Representative at Final Completion.
    - Backfill excavations with clean imported fill material.
    - Load and transport Contaminated Material and Non-Contaminated material to a Treatment Facility as applicable and a Disposal Facility for final disposal
    - Restore Site to pre-existing conditions.
    - As-built and closure Submittals.
    - All ancillary activities required to complete Work.
    
    Green Requirements:
    • Use only environmentally responsible green materials/products with no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions or minimum VOC emissions of indoor off-gassing contaminants for improved indoor air quality - subject of acceptance of Submittal of Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Product Data.
    • Use materials/products containing highest percentage of recycled and recovered materials practicable - consistent with maintaining cost effective satisfactory levels of competition.
    • Adhere to waste reduction requirement for reuse or recycling of waste materials, thus diverting materials from Landfill.
    
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract and as shown on the drawings.  
    
    
    Mandatory Site Visit:
    
    A site visit is scheduled on Monday, September 12, 2016 @ 2:00pm local time.  Interested bidders are to meet at the Toad River Maintenance Camp.  Two locations will be visited during the site visit.
    
    2:00pm to 2:45pm  Location 1: Toad River Maintenance Camp
    2:50pm - 3:10 pm Location 2: Stringer Creek Gravel Pit
    
    The site visit for this project is MANDATORY.  The representative of the bidder will be required to sign the Site Visit Attendance Sheet atthe site visit. Bids submitted by Bidders who have not signed the attendance sheet will be rejected.
    
    Bidders must wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, high visibility vest, and work boots) to the site visit.
    
    Delivery Date:
    
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed by February 24, 2017
    
    Value of Project:
    
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $1,800,000.00 and $2,200,000.00
