Work Description: 
Work under this contract consists of execution of the abatement
of asbestos-containing vermiculite insulation and other secleted
asbestos-containing materials at the Palace Grand Theatre (Third
Avenue and King Street), Commanding Officer's Quarters (508
Fifth Avenue), Madame Tremblay's Store (Southeast Corner of
Third Avenue and King Street), and McCauley House (907 Seventh
Avenue), as follows:

1) Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing vermiculite
insulation in the floor cavity / crawlspace in the Palace Grand
Theatre.

2) Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing mechanical pipe
wrap in the Palace Grand Theatre.

3) Optional Site 1: Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing
vermiculite insulation in the attic space in the Commanding
Officer's Quarters.

4) Optional Site 1: Supply and installation of new insulation in
the attic space in the Commanding Officer's Quarters.

5) Optional Site 2: Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing
vermiculite insulation in the attic space in Madame Tremblay's
Store.

6) Optional Site 2: Supply and installation of new insulation in
the attic space in Madams Tremblay's Store.

7) Optional Site 3: Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing
vermiculite insulation in the attic space in the McCauley House.

8) Optional Site 3: Supply and installation of new insulation in
the attic space in the McCauley House.

Optional Site Visit: 
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. 

A site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 12:00pm
local time. Interested bidders are to meet at the Palace Grand
Theatre, Dawson City, Yukon. The Theatre is located on King
Street between Second and Third Street. 
Vermiculite is present but well contained. Parks Canada staff do
not wear masks in the crawl space but the bidders should be
aware of the situation and decide for themselves. Bidders should
bring their own safety boots, hard hats and flashlights. 

Delivery Date: 
The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work between July
1 and August 1, 2015.

Value of Project: 
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between 
$100,000 and $120,000.
