Bids must be submitted by using the CPC Connect service provided by Canada Post Corporation. Faxed and hard copy (submitted in person or via mail/courier) bids will not be accepted for the subject bid solicitation. Bids emailed directly will be rejected and deemed non-compliant. Please consult SI06 Submission of bid in the invitation to tender document for full details. SI05 Bid Security Requirements. A scanned copy of a bond does not constitute a digital bond. Submitting copies (non-original, non-verifiable or scanned copy) of signed and sealed bid bond are not acceptable. Non-compliant bids will be given no further consideration. Please consult SI05 Bid Security Requirements in the invitation to tender document for full details. Work Description: Work of this Contract comprises of the construction of reinforced concrete foundations, a concrete and gravel helipad, and a self-supported tower on an undeveloped remote CCG communication site. Work on the sites includes, but is not limited to: - Mobilization and Demobilization of all manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources necessary to execute the Work; - Design, supply, and installation of a new 30.5m self-supported tower with work platform and associated concrete foundations; - Design, supply, and installation of antenna mounts and obstruction lighting; - Excavation, movement of earth and localized removal of rock; - Design and supply of one (1) new waveguide bridge; - Design, supply, and installation of concrete foundations for one waveguide bridge; - Supply, and installation of a grounding system for the new tower, waveguide bridge, building, and fuel tank; - Supply and installation of concrete foundations for four (4) temporary CCG buildings; - Supply and installation of concrete foundations for one (1) fuel tank and platform; - Supply and installation of concrete retaining walls for a helipad; - Supply and installation of granular backfill material for helipad; and - Removal and disposal of existing timber helipad. Optional work for this contract includes: - Supply and installation of ten (10) concrete foundations for future CCG building. - Supply and installation of two (2) concrete stair landings for future CCG building Mandatory Requirements: The General Contractor must have completed two projects of a similar nature within the past 5 years (helicopter access only, placement of reinforced concrete, and contract value of at least $300,000). The Tower Erection (Sub)Contractor must have erected a minimum of five steel communications towers, each with a minimum height of 12m within the past ten years. The Engineer(s) of Record must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, and must be registered as a Professional Engineer with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC). The Tower Manufacturer must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience fabricating steel towers in the telecommunications industry, and must hold a valid and relevant CWB Certification. Delivery Date: The Contractor shall perform and complete the work by November 30, 2022. Value of Project: To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $1,000,001 to $5,000,000.
