    Work Description
    Work of this Contract covers the construction of a new compacted gravel pedestrian pathway and pole mounted street lighting at Pleasant Camp, British Columbia as indicated on the drawings and specifications.
    
    Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in its mandate under the Customs Act operates the
    Pleasant Camp Port of Entry to provide integrated border services including the processing of travellers into and out of Canada. The Port including the existing Port of Entry Buildings, staff housing and electrical, fuel, water and other facilities must remain fully operational throughout the project duration, unless otherwise indicated.
    
    The Contractor will be responsible for clearing snow on site if required to complete the Work and maintaining a safe and clean worksite.
    
    The Pleasant Camp Port of Entry is a Canada - US border crossing station located on the Haines Highway near the Canadian border at the Northwest corner of British Columbia in the Stikine region. Latitude and longitude coordinates are: 59deg 27min N, 136deg 22min W.
    
    Site Visit:
    Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
    
    There will be a site visit on 01 November 2018 at 13:00. Interested bidders are to meet at the Pleasant Camp Port-of-Entry, B.C.
    
    Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than 31 October 2018 at 12:00 to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet.
    
    Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
    
    In order to be guaranteed access to the site visit all persons should have the proper personal protection equipment (safety glasses, footwear, vests and hard hats etc.).
    
    Delivery Date:
    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within 20 weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer or March 31, 2019 whichever comes first. 
    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $90,000.00 - $110,000.00.

    Firms that elect to base their proposal on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid.
