Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) Northern Forestry Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Design-Build Replacement of Elevators

Public Services & Procurement Canada is delivering a project for Natural Resources Canada regarding the removal and replacement of 2 existing passenger elevators at their Northern Forestry Centre located in Edmonton, Alberta. One elevator has 4 stops and the other has 5. The existing elevators are aged and beyond their serviceable life.

This project will be delivered via a design-build approach.

The building was constructed in 1969 and is a 3-storey concrete framed structure with a basement and penthouse. Functionally, the building is a mix of both office and laboratory spaces. There have been various upgrades to the building over it’s 50 years life span though the existing elevators are original. The facility is occupied and will remain so for the duration of this project.

The work for this project will include, but is not limited to, the following: development of engineered plans and specifications for all project related work; removal and/or disposal and/or salvage of the existing equipment; procurement and installation of the new elevator equipment; integration of the new elevators into existing building mechanical/electrical systems; as more fully described in the Terms of Reference.

    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

There will be a site visit on December 13, 2021 at 10:00 am (local time). Interested bidders are to meet at the main entrance of the Northern Forestry Centre, 5320 122 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.

This site visit is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Supplier Personnel.
