Trade Agreement: NONE Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: N/A - P&A/LOI Only Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: ET025-183042/A Thompson, Valerie Telephone No. - (204) 509-0349 Fax No. - (204) 983-7796 Email - valerie.thompson@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca Expression of Interest, Construction, Community Daycare, Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada Public Services and Procurement Canada (Canada) invites Expressions of Interest from Contractors interested in participating in the project of the construction of a new daycare building designed for 60 children with the following characteristics: a) The new building will be located at the corner of Paunna Road and Niaqunngusiaq Road in Iqaluit, Nunavut and falls within the Nunavut Land claim Agreement area. The project will also include the construction of an access road through a portion of the new Joamie Court Street, a parking for 17 vehicles, a fenced playground area as well as other civil and landscaping works on the project’s site (drainage, culverts, etc.). b) The building will have a total area of approximately 760sq.m. distributed over two stories, including two staircases and a wheelchair lift. It will be accessed via three entries and stairs, one with an accessible ramp, and will have a terrace. It will contain a partial crawlspace, administrative areas, five playrooms of varying areas, accessory areas (kitchen, laundry room, storage, janitor room) and mechanical/electrical rooms. c) Artwork from local artists will be integrated into the building’s architecture (floors, suspended profiles and graphics). d) The foundation will consist of piles socketed into bedrock. The roof structure and the second floor will be composed of glulam wood beams topped by a glulam wood deck and supported by glulam wood columns down to the ground floor. The ground floor will incorporate a concrete slab on a steel deck over steel beams and joists. The crawlspace’s structure will be similar to the ground floors. e) The building will be linked to the City’s aqueduct and sewage systems. It will include a fire protection system (wet-pipe sprinkler system). Heating will be provided by a combination of radiant in-floor heating and heated forced air. The building’s ventilation will be provided by a low velocity constant volume system with a recovery unit and humidification through electric resistive steam. f) The building electrical system will include electrical supply and distribution, grounding, electrical services, lighting, as well as fire alarm and surveillance cameras systems. g) The intent is to tender this project in Early April 2018. h) The building and its premises must be substantially complete and prepared for occupancy for March 29rd 2019. The project will include commissioning. A one year warranty period will start on the date of substantial completion. i) The estimated construction value is currently $8,000,000. j) Artists renderings of the exterior of the project (not to be used for construction) see attachment: k) Main and second floor plans (not to be used for construction) see attachment: All responses must specify: a) the name, address and telephone number of the interested party; b) owner of the company - expressions of interest must clearly indicate that they are being submitted by an authorized employee or principal of the owner, OR, if submitted by an agent, the Expression must be accompanied by a letter from the owner authorizing that party to do so.
