Letter of Interest (LOI)



The purpose of this Letter of Interest (LOI) is to inform
industry of the change in procurement strategy for the Maritime
Satellite Communications Upgrade (MSCU) for the Department of
National Defence (DND).

The Price and Availability (P&A) issued September 2012 and the
Letter of Interest (LOI) issued April 2015 both indicated that a
competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) would be forthcoming.
However, feedback from industry and further market analysis has
indicated that there may be only one bidder capable of meeting
the mandatory requirements identified for this procurement.

It is Canada's intention to release an Advance Contract Award
Notification (ACAN) directed to Harris Corporation of Melbourne,
Florida, USA.

It is anticipated that the ACAN notification will be posted on
Buy and Sell for a period of fifteen (15) calendar days at which
time industry may submit a statement of capabilities if capable
of meeting the mandatory requirements identified  in the ACAN.
