Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: N/A - P&A/LOI Only Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: WORKPLACE WELLNESS AND PRODUCTIVITY STRATEGY INTRODUCTION: Canada seeks to improve disability and sick leave management in the federal public service by introducing the Workplace Wellness and Productivity Strategy (WPS). The WPS intends to put in place a seamless Disability and Sick Leave Management System (DSLM) that would strike a balance between employee wellness and workplace productivity. It is anticipated that a component of the WPS would consist of procuring services to manage short-term disability plan (STDP) and long-term disability plan (LTDP) for the federal public service as well as procuring insurance services. The services to manage the disability plans may include: - receiving and adjudicating disability claims under the disability plans, - conducting case management to facilitate timely return to work, and/or - issuing disability benefit payments to employees. In order to gather information to support the project, Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) have launched an industry engagement process. Through this process PWGSC and TBS want to engage industry early to help inform project decisions and shape a procurement strategy. The goal of the industry engagement process is to promote a better understanding of the Government of Canada's business needs and industry practices, so that risks can be mitigated and innovative solutions identified. The industry engagement process will include a variety of engagement activities, such as an industry day, one-on-one meetings, Request for Information and/or working group meetings. Unions have been invited to participate in a program design working group. The industry engagement is a parallel process in which unions are also invited to participate. The government is committed to consulting unions and other stakeholder in the context of modernizing disability management in the public service. OBJECTIVE: This notice outlines the Government of Canada's intended industry engagement process. During the industry engagement process, the PWGSC Contracting Authority will communicate with, and solicit information from, registered industry Participants through direct email rather than by posting additional notices on this site. Interested suppliers may contact the PWGSC Contracting Authority at any point to initiate participation in the industry engagement process and obtain information. All industry participants will be required to sign the Terms and Conditions of the Engagement Process. INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES COMPLETED: An Industry Day was held on December 9, 2013 to launch the industry engagement process. Three Requests for Information (RFI) have been circulated to registered industry participants. The first RFI was circulated in February 2014, the second RFI in May 2014; and the third RFI in July 2014. UPCOMING INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT AND PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES: Thank you for your participation in the Workplace Wellness and Productivity Strategy industry engagement process to date. We would like to express our appreciation for the constructive and helpful input provided by industry participants. No industry engagement activities are currently planned for the near future. All registered industry participants will be contacted regarding the next steps of the process in due course once they are determined.
