NATURE OF PROPOSED PROCUREMENT

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) on behalf of
Canada has  a requirement for a commercially available Pharmacy
Management and Electronic Medication Administration Record
Software Solution in order to implement a standardized
medication management system linking health units. 
The Software Solution consists of the following two components:
(1) A pharmacy management component which includes a
standardized inventory management module; and, (2) An Electronic
Medication Administration Record (eMAR) for the management of
electronic documentation.

It is intended to result in the award of a contract for one
year, plus seven one-year irrevocable option(s) allowing Canada
to extend the term of the contract.  Any resulting contract may
be used by any Government Department, Departmental Corporation
or Agency, or other body of the Government of Canada (including
all those described in the Financial Administration Act, as
amended from time to time) or any other party for which the
Department of Public Works and Government Services has been
authorized to act from time to time under section 16 of the
Department of Public Works and Government Services Act  (each a
"Client") to acquire User Licenses and related Maintenance and
Support Services.  
The deliverables for the initial Client (Correctional Service
Canada) under this bid solicitation will include User licenses
to use the Licensed Software up to Entity License.   The
resulting contract will also options for User Licenses up to
Entity License for the Department of National Defence.  One-year
Warranty, Maintenance and Support Services for Licensed
Software, Software Documentation, and professional services for
Correctional Services Canada are also included.

Tendering System provided by MERX.

SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR USE BY OTHER GOVERNMENT
DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES BEYOND THE INITIAL CLIENT IDENTIFIED
