Requirement Details Tendering Procedure: Selective Tendering This bid solicitation is issued only to suppliers who qualified in accordance with the conditions of Supply Arrangement EN966-140305/D, EN966-140305/E, EN966-140305/F, EN966-140305/G and EN966-140305/H on Modernization of the Translation Bureau’s Directory of Linguistic Services suppliers for the Translation Bureau. Only suppliers who are pre-qualified under the Supply Arrangement EN966-140305/D, EN966-140305/E, EN966-140305/F, EN966-140305/G et EN966-140305/H and have been issued a supply arrangement at the time this bid solicitation is issued, are eligible to bid for the following category: Field: General and Administrative texts (TAG) Tier: 3 Language: English to French Number of words for the contract period: 1,270,000 Description of work: The Translation Bureau is an agency of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) charged with supporting the Government of Canada in its efforts to provide services for, and communicate with, Canadians in the official language of their choice. This requirement is for translation services, from English into French, as and when requested, in the field of «General and Administrative Texts (TAG) », for all federal departments and agencies served by the Translation Bureau. Nature of texts to be translated The project involves translating transcripts of testimony presented to the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Commission. Many passages refer to Indigenous culture, that is, to specific indigenous concepts, beliefs and customs, and their translation requires appropriate research. Note that some passages may be offensive. The translation should remain faithful to the syntax of the original text, meaning that the sentences should not be embellished. Hesitations, repetitions, tautologies, pleonasms, redundancies, as well as nonsense must be preserved. Corporate documents on topics such as: The running and operation of the Government of Canada’s departments and agencies, as well as their internal and external communications, policies and programs The Government of Canada’s products and services for Canadians and others Co-operation between the Government of Canada’s departments and agencies Co-operation of the Government of Canada with provincial, municipal and regional governments and Canadian Aboriginal people, as well as with foreign governments, entities and individuals The types of documents to be translated include, but are not limited to, the following: Reports, publications, policies, guidelines, procedures, agendas, minutes, press releases, briefing notes, decisions, PowerPoint presentations, correspondence, speeches or exposés, mandates, studies, analyses, manuals, standards, discussion papers, guidance materials, plans, surveys, evaluations, parliamentary questions and answers, training courses, planning documents, as well as legislative and regulatory documents. The translation style required is usually administrative. Security requirements: There is no security requirement associated with this bid solicitation.
