Description
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is looking into modernizing some of its radiation detection portals used to screen marine containers for radiation and is investigating the feasibility of installing an optical character recognition (OCR) system to capture container identification numbers which are written in accordance with the ISO 6364 standard. The equipment used currently is comprised of two towers that are five meters tall and approximately five meters apart through which the marine containers will pass at an average speed of 20 km/h. The towers are also equipped with two LED lights (4700 lumens total) and one camera (Axis Q1614 Mk2) each.
