    Description

    OCTOBER 30, 2015: The National Capital Commission has decided to re-evaluate the timing of the construction work planned for the Rideau Hall Operation Zone. The construction tender is cancelled and will be reissued at a later date

    Review of qualifications

    The National Capital Commission (NCC) invites General Contractors (GCs) with proven experience in demolition and selective demolition, removal of contaminated soils and abatement of designated substances on and within buildings to respond to this tender.

    Project Description

    Project Title: Operations Zone Redevelopment, PHASE 1A:

    Location: Ottawa, ON

    This project involves the following work:

    • Removal of contaminated soil from within a designated area;
    • Demolition of four (4) single-storey wood buildings;
    • Abatement of the designated substances on and within the buildings.

    Background

    The construction work will require meticulous coordination of subcontractors and professional project management to:

    • Ensure high quality workmanship;
    • Limit impacts to the adjacent environment and public and visitors;
    • Ensure adherence to construction and environmental –related legislation and best-practices.
    • Meet critical dates.

    A MANDATORY site visit will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10am Ottawa time.

    To confirm your attendance at the site visit and to gain access to the grounds, please communicate with NCC Corporate Security at 613-239-5222 or securityscreening@ncc-ccn.ca at least 24 hours prior to the site visit.

    All costs incurred by the Bidder to attend the site visit will be at their expense. The NCC will not reimburse any Bidder for expenses related to the site visit.

    The site visit for this project is MANDATORY. The representative of the Bidder will be required to sign the Site Visit Attendance Sheet at the site visit. Tenders submitted by Bidders who have not signed the attendance sheet will not be accepted.

    An additional document, significant to the comprehension of the scope of work, is only available thru NCC Security for viewing. The secure document shall also be made available for viewing during the mandatory site visit. Bidders may also review the document at the NCC offices from 9AM to 4PM from Oct. 9 to Nov. 2 by contacting the NCC Security at 613-239-5222 or at email securityscreening@ncc-ccn.ca.

    Tenders& bid security must be forwarded to the attention of Allan Lapensée, Sr. Contract Officer, Procurement Services, National Capital Commission, 40 Elgin Street, 3rd floor Service Centre, Ottawa, ON, K1P 1C7. Bid closing date is NOV10, 2015 at 3pm Ottawa time. Late or faxed bids will not be accepted.

    There is a public opening scheduled shortly after the bid closing time in room 306 at 40 Elgin Street, 3rd floor, Ottawa, ON.
