    Description

    SCOPE OF WORK / DELIVERABLES:

    The project is located in Steveston Gulf, which is on the north shore of the south arm of the Fraser River in Richmond, BC. Wharf reconstruction will be under Building No. 1007 and 1008. These buildings are located on Wharf 404, situated directly west of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery heritage building and they provide net storage and repair facilities for Canfisco operations. Refer to Drawing STG-1 for the location of these buildings (Building 1008 is labelled as BLDG 8 and Building 1007 is labelled as BLDG 7).

    In general, the nature of work consists of light to heavy wharf repairs under Building 1007 and 1008. This work is to be completed with a minimum 3-person carpentry ground crew for 180 man-days. For example, a 3-person crew would be 180/3 = 60 working days. The Contractor’s ground crew shall be self-supervising and efficient in daily work activities and will have periodic inspection and direction by the Engineer or Owner representative.

    Wharf repairs consists of, but are not limited to, replacing timber decking, stringers, caps, corbels, subcaps and replacing bearing piles with stubs and concrete jackets. This work includes field cutting and treating as per Section 00 99 00. The Contractor’s ground crew shall conduct work where shown on drawings S-WR-001 & S-WR-002. Bearing pile replacement and concrete jacket work shall be done in accordance to S-WR-003.

     The Contractor is required to supply materials shown below in Section 01 11 00, 3.5.1.2 (timber), 3.5.1.3 (hardware) and 3.5.1.4 (misc. materials). All other materials required for the work will be supplied by the Owner. A list of Owner supplied materials is provided in Section 01 15 00. Owner supplied materials will be accessible at an Owner specified laydown area on Site (to be determined after Contract Award).

    All work and materials shall conform to Technical Specifications in Sections 00 20 60, 00 51 00, 00 99 00 and 01 35 43.
