MANDATORY CRITERIA
Bidders must demonstrate with their bid that they meet the mandatory requirements. Refer to Appendix 2 for details.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Parks Canada intends to engage a general heritage conservation contractor to implement the Guardhouse Surveys and Explorations, North and South Store at Fort Lennox NHS.
The work includes surveys and explorations of three (3) buildings in close collaboration with the Professionals. This work includes, but is not limited to:
.1 Perform exterior surface surveys, including tactile sounding of each stone with a hammer, window and roof edge surveys. These statements will be accompanied by the Professional.
.2 Make exploratory openings to the masonry walls and close these openings following the Professional's surveys of the openings.
.3 Make exploratory openings to roofs and closures of these openings following surveys by the Professional.
.4 Touch sound the exterior masonry of the Guard House chimneys, open the cap, take photos of the interior and close the cap.
.5 Perform shallow excavations and backfill following the taking of original mortar samples with the Professional and the latter's surveys of masonry conditions at the base of the walls.
.6 Install temporary stabilizations in a Guard Room.
.7 Their related work.

There will be an optional site visit on Thursday June 21st 2018 at 8am local time. Interested bidders are to meet at:

Bidders must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than one open day before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance.
Bidders who, for any reason, cannot attend at the specified date and time will not be given an alternative appointment with the Project Manager to view the site and their proposals.
CLOSING DATE AND TIME
July 6th, 2018 at 2PM (EDT)
National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
Standard Terms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT
The Contractor must begin the work at Contract Award and complete it no later than October 1st 2018.

Inquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date to allow sufficient time to respond.

Parks Canada Procurement Unit provides services to the public in either official language of Canada.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
