      DELIVERABLES / SCOPE OF WORK

      Project Description

      The scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to, the provision of demolition activities, required for the removal and disposal of the 32.8m x 12.3m existing bait depot building. The work covered will consist of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material required for the bait depot building demolition in Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, in strict accordance with specifications and drawings and is subject to all terms and conditions on the Contract.

      In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

      1. Removal of existing asphalt pavement and disposal at an approved waste disposal site. See limits shown on drawings.

      2. Demolition, removal and disposal of hazardous material and asbestos abatement prior to the demolition of the existing building.

      3. Demolition and removal of a 32.8m x 12.3m single story wood structure building including concrete foundation and concrete floor slab, as outlined on the accompanying drawings. All demolished and excavated materials to be disposed of at an approved waste disposal site.

      4. Placement of rock fill, type 2 and type 1 granular material as noted on the drawings.

      5. All as indicated on accompanying drawings and specifications hereto.

      FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

       

      Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

      Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification section 01 35 28 – Health and Safety before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

      EXPECTED START AND COMPLETION DATES

       

      The services of the Contractor will be commencing upon contract award. The expected completion date of this project is February 28, 2019.

       

      MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

       

    • The minimum acceptable amount of Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance is $2,000,000.00 per occurrence. All tenders must be accompanied by confirmation from the tenderer’s insurance company that the required insurance will be available upon contract award;
