    REQUIREMENT

    The Parks Canada Agency requires the services of a contractor to replace the cedar shingle roof of the Hyman Store, a heritage building located in the Grande-Grave sector of Forillon National Park, in Gaspésie, Quebec.

    The Work includes (but is not limited to–See Section 4 Scope of Work) all labours, materials, equipment and sub-contracted services to complete the following:

    1. Replacement of the roof of the Hyman Store, including the following:

    • Remove old roof and assess the condition of the decking. Replace rotted sections of the decking.

    • Supply and install cedar shingle cladding.

    • Supply and install a high-temperature self-adhering air and vapour barrier and ventilated underlayment for shingles (“Cedar Breather”) over the entire roof surface.

    • Install 1½-in. wide zinc-coated galvanized strips every 7th row.

    • Supply all materials, labour and equipment to complete the installation as shown on the drawings. Installation shall include all fasteners.

    • Supply and install step flashing on the chimney.

    • Supply and install flashing where the north wall meets the roof of the accessory building.

    2) Repair of surfaces damaged by the work

    3) Environmental protection measures

    4) Occupational health and safety supervision for the duration of the work

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $100,001 > $250,000, Taxes extra.

    Period of Contract / DELIVERY DATE

    Contractor shall perform and complete the Work no later than October 23, 2020.

    National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.

Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
